I bought this material with the intention of using a button I bought years ago....of course, when it was time to find the button, I couldn't find it! That's where Joanie from Bead Asylum came to the rescue.

New Clutch
A while back I bought a magazine that included all these cool patterns for purses and totes. I made this clutch to take to Dean and Nicole's wedding.
I bought this material with the intention of using a button I bought years ago....of course, when it was time to find the button, I couldn't find it! That's where Joanie from Bead Asylum came to the rescue.
She told me to make the below "button". And she was right as usual...it took less than 20 minutes...and I altered the pattern.

Boy's Day!
Anyways, Jeff has the whole Boy's Day display minus the armor...which his brother Doug has. Jeff has the Kabuto (helmet) arrows, swords, drum etc...
A while ago, I purchased the Precious Moments Boy's Day figurines for both Jordan and Neil....this year, the above figurines were made available by a man from Nagoya, Japan. They came with a base and glass dome with each boy's name engraved. I think we made out on the engraving since I had their first, middle and last names engraved!
Aren't they cute? The one on the left is Neil's...and is named "Camelia" and Jordan's is named "Cherry Blossom", after the flower each figure is holding. I let Jordan and Neil each pick their own.

Snow, Snow, NO SNOW :(
Spring Break is over! In an attempt to try to take the boys to the snow...we drove up to Reno on Saturday...Jeff met with clients on Friday in Roseville, so the drive wasn't that bad.
There was no snow...but, there was a mound of frozen ice...
But, AREN'T they cute?
After the disappointment of NO SNOW...we drove into Reno to Scheel's and Cabela's
Sporting Goods Stores...question for you: Why do these Super Sporting Goods (Bass Pro Shop type) stores all have fudge (albeit AWESOME) shops? Yes, I brought home fudge for me and Auntie Irene...if I ever get it to her....

Shopping in SF
The boys did great...my future daughter-in-laws will thank me...we caught BART from Union City by 10:10...and made it up to the City for some shoe/jean/top shopping and lunch. Karen is wearing one of her new tops...I don't know when/how she changed....
After the market closed, Jeff went home changed and met us for a little shopping (Jeff bought some stuff for himself also) and dinner. Then we all took BART home. Jeff had driven Lisa's car to the Bay Fair station and with instructions on how to get to 580...she made it home before 9 p.m.
All in all it was a nice little excursion....the boys survived...thank goodness for their Nintendo DS's and the Game Stop shopping...I don't think they are quite ready for NYC...

Sassy Bags...
SEWING!! WHOO HOO...thanks to Lori's help last Saturday, I set up a cutting table, coordinated some of the "fat quarters" and started cutting away! A while back, I found this great pattern from Lazy Girl Designs. I still need to go check out their site. It's super easy to cut, sew etc...the hardest part is finding the coordinating fabrics. Luckily, Joann's in Fremont has a ton of Fat Quarters and I got really lucky when I found a bundle of Fat Quarters with Asian designs...I am in heaven! I sewed the above four "Sassy Bags" today. I have material cut for one more bag...and I have fabric for about six more. Hopefully, I can get these done before the SACBC Bazaar in July!
