As soon as the boys got out of school on Thursday, we headed to SoCal to celebrate Peter Joseph's 13th birthday!!! It was a REALLY quick trip...sorry everyone, we couldn't meet up with you!
Jeff is one of PJ's Godfathers...an honor that he is very proud of...especially since PJ is someone to be proud of...
To celebrate PJ's entrance to "adulthood", Jeff wanted to take him to an "adult" restaurant...so, we went to Fleming's in La Jolla. Jordan and PJ spent a lot of time checking out the Duke/West Virginia game results on the bar tv...Duke won...(Jordan took 2nd place in the office pool... although 80% went into his college fund.
)
Ahem, Neil....Kalei's father is in the Navy...he probably knows how to handle dangerous weapons....like guided missles....

The whole group...why is my face fuzzy? oh well...the kids look good....

Now for the new toy...my friend Lori Yoshida (not to be confused with the Canadian) and I have been debating about getting a Keurig. Lori's brother Perry has one...and he loves it! Costco (here is the sales plug), has a bundle that includes 72 k-cups of coffee and a personal k-cup! The personal k-cup allows a person to use their own coffee...vs using the store bought k-cups. When I got home from SoCal...I went to Costco and bought one...so far, I love it! It came in handy this am when I had to get up at 5 am to take my mom to Stanford. (BTW: She is doing well.)

Here is the demo by Commander Santiago. He has had his Keurig for a while and still loves it....hey, if the US Government trusts him, I guess I can. Hey Len, after you retire this year, you can demo the Keurig at Costco!
On an ending note....what do the numbers: 1,12,18,22,42, and 18 have in common? They were all on Mitzi Higashi's Lottery ticket. Mitzi and her husband are friends of my parents...she became California's newest millionnaire...$37Million to be exact...Congratulations Mrs. Higashi!!!
