Bad Mommy day and a green cast

So, I didn't take my phone with me when I went to the gym and when I ran errands...after all, nothing big really happens...right?

WRONG, as soon as I got home, Ms Kelly called from the office. Jordan hurt his hand playing tetherball with a 4th grader (Hello Jordan, you are 5'5" and in the 6th grade). Kelly said not to worry, it looks like it is dislocated and he isn't fussing at all...um, WRONG again...it is a break!

After two sets of x-rays, 3 waiting rooms, a failed attempt to numb the area before it was reset...Jordan does not like needles, Jeff finally told the doctor to set it without drugs because he was whimpering...we came home with a green cast...

The only comment Jordan made...why didn't you use the charger in the car...no comment about his Dad who didn't know that the phone in his pocket was ringing.....double duh....maybe the title of this blog should be "Bad Parent Day..."

New furniture

Yeah! I finally got BlogPress to work...I had to uninstall and then sync with my iTunes and reinstall...oh well...

The sad thing is, I had my post all done...here we go again...

When our last cat died, Jeff did NOT want to get another cat...but, since we were so busy with my Mom, it made sense. After a while, we debated getting a dog, another cat or a sofa...yes, SOFA.

Well, I guess we did get another piece of furniture!

Made it home!

I made it home to find that four feet, um, paws have been added to our house.

We visited Nori, formerly Julie, about 2 weeks ago. At the time, they told us she is 9 months old, but, they don't have an exact age for her. Yes, her ears are suppose to be like that...she is a black and white tuxedo Scottish Fold....cute, eh?

While I was on my Girl's Trip to Seattle/Portland, Jeff and the boys went to Purrfect Cat Rescue in the Newpark Mall and they saw her there. The last time we were there, they said she was 50% off ($50) because it was hard for her to compete with the 2 month old kittens.

Jeff and the boys called me to tell me that she was still there...I told Jeff that it was up to him. They left the mall and went to PetSmart to buy litter, a scooper and food. Jeff also decided on a new name, Nori, because he doesn't like naming pets after people.

I started to suspect that they made a decision when I got a call from Jordan "do you like scented or unscented cat litter?" (I could hear Jeff in the background saying "you can't do that...it won't be a surprise!"). Then, Jordan abruptly said, "um, never mind" then the phone went click...

On Sunday, they went back and she was GONE! The rescue folks left her at home, because they thought he would come back next week! After a phone call, some paperwork and finding out she was FREE, they were going home with her...

She loves to play, and is purring away! I think she is adjusting quite nicely to her new home.

Portland - donuts and chocolates

Lori, Betty and I left Seattle at 7:30 am...and made it to the Portland Airport right on time. Kathy and Michelle landed right when we got to the cell phone lot and we were off to Arleta Library bakery...which was CLOSED!

Then we were off to the Saturday Market for burgers, Thai, Greek and Chinese...it was a nice assortment of food with entertainment by American Nobody.

After walking around the market, we found Voodoo donuts....or, to be more precise, we found the line that went around the building...

Then, we got a little closer to the door....

Then, in the door....

New sandals!

Eric dropped us off at the mall...and Lori and I did some shopping to get ready for the weekend....

I found these cute sandals! And they were 65% off! I am black sandal-less because I tossed my former favorite pair in Hawaii because the heel was worn out....so, these are the replacements! Can you see the hearts?

Well, we are all ready for our drive down to Portland! We will start out around 7:30 am to hopefully be at the airport by 11...

First on the itinerary...Arleta Bakery followed by the Saturday Market and Washington Square....

Seattle...we made it!

Lori and I made it to Seattle! Eric and Jared picked us up at the airport...Betty was at work and Brent was at school.

After a nice lunch at BJ's, Eric remembered that I loved the stamp store Impress...it was nearby, so we stopped for a quick look.

After Betty came home from work, we left the boys and did some quick shopping. I had found a bead store, that was near a quilt store...it turns out that the bead shop merged with the quilt store! I picked up a few charms and then we were off to explore more of Bellevue.

After doing so damage...we met up with the boys, Brent had karate lessons...at The Crab Pot...from FB, I see that quite a few people are familiar with this place...quite yummy...

Besides, the fashionable bibs, the food is served ON the table....no, not in a bowl on the table....ON THE TABLE!!!!

This is the before picture...

Um, this is the after...it was really good...potatoes, corn on the cob, mussels, dungeness and snow crab, shrimp, clams and andouille sausage...

Card kits are done

The women's club is having a card making workshop...so, I thought I would combine a few ideas for a cute card...

Remember the baby shower card I made a few weeks ago. Same card...different art...

Here it is folded...

...and TA DA!!! Here it is popped up!

Many thanks to my inspiration Lori Yoshida and Munchkins in Mililani HI...

I got a lot done since vacation...Jeff wanted me to make a blanket for someone he used to work with...I was told that I had until then end of the month...NOT! It was a little plain...so, I added some crocheted flowers...cute, eh?
