Last game...and awards

Today was the last game for the CC Cobra tournament. Neil had a good last game...a little more hustle and a lot more boxing out.

Afterwards, they had a medal presentation...all in all...good friends, a lot of people that Jeff and I knew from Fresno, our TRUE friends from Fremont area and beyond...and basketball...

After the game, we all met at The Doghouse Grill for lunch. It was quite yummy..the tri-tip sandwich was huge! Jordan ate his Monster burger and then half of my tri-tip sandwich...I took some of the meat out and gave it to Darren's parents.

Chukchansi update: Dad and Dean won...Dean won $400 on the penny slots and came back with $350. Jeff and Gary came back with t-shirts....

Dinner with Auntie Angel

Last night we met Angel for dinner. We are in town for the Cobra basketball tournament. Neil had a 9am game this morning.

Angel picked a Chinese restaurant that turned out to be the same place we had dinner after my Fresno State graduation...too funny...Ang just discovered it a few years ago...guess she didn't want to go to dinner withnus 20 years ago.

Cobras

It was nice seeing friends from Fresno State. Two years ago, a friends' parents asked about the cookies I used to make...so, I dusted off the recipe and made them.

Neil's team lost both games...but, Jeff was happy that Neil played a better game during the second game. Luckily, their next game is at 11:30 on Sunday.

One of the highlights of the Cobra tournament is the Saturday night activity...all access pass to Blackbeards...water slides, mini golf, bumper boats, all you can eat hotdogs, chips, cookies, rides etc...

Jordan and Brent...

Brent from Seattle and Neil...

Jeff is being a good SIL...he went with my Dad and brothers to Chukchansi...(sorry, Joyce, we didn't call...we didn't know how the schedule would work)...as of the last message...Dean was up $400 on the penny slots....

Meeting George

Today, we met a new friend...George Tachiki....

Our friends Andi and Jeff, (yes, another Jeff), adopted a dog last week...he was busy exploring Andi's classroom while she was finishing packing up.

Jordan was more hesitant about being around a dog...but, we finally got him to hold the dog.

More on the US Open...

I wanted to post more pictures from the Open.

As we were trying to leave we were held up by the "Rock Star". Ryo Ishikawa is a young golfer from Japan that usually has a large press following. The first thing Jeff and I noticed was the denser presence of Japanese fans...then, there was the haole camera girl speaking Japanese...I figured out later that they we're from Asahi news...then we saw him...the "Rock Star"...

The killer on this hole...is the location of the pin...

Do you see the bluff where the fairway ends? That's where the hole is....up there!

Fore!

Today, we went to the US Open in Pebble Beach. Jeff met some of his clients there for a meeting/lunch. It was a beautiful day in Pebble...

It was a little hazy but not windy and uncomfortable. We saw a few people from the Bay Area...it was a nice day with my hubby! (a funny story...a man that we met on the CSUMB shuttle, grew up in Salinas. He said that he heard of Dad...back "In the day" Dad played a lot of football)

Thanks to Auntie Irene and the Nomuras for taking care of the boys...

On our way home we met my brother, Gary and my father to handle some stuff for my Mom.

But, the exciting news is...I finally got my iPad case and camera cables! This was a bit of a drama this week. My father house is on the family farm...in the middle of town... BEHIND my uncles' house. Both houses and the farm have the same address...so most of the deliveries go to my uncles' house. Of course, no one was home when Fedex tried to deliver the packages...so, THREE MEN, my Dad, Uncle Kunio, and our "amigo" Tony, had to figure out how to sign the delivery slip...sigh. The next day, there was panic...there was no slip and no package...since I was at the dentist, I couldn't check the delivery confirmation...but, eventually they found it...it was by the garage..which is not used...they park their pickups in the packing shed...

Ring and things

After spending the day (and night) in Salinas, it was a nice break to meet Jeff's cousins Keith, Mimi and Katie for lunch. Keith and Mimi just got engaged and it was nice to hear "the story", see the ring and just relax.

Mimi didn't want a "diamond engagement ring"...so, she showed Keith what she liked and he saw a ring designer and he came up with this:

He did well...don't you think?

Neil's basketball team had a scrimmage in preparation for the Fresno tournament on Father's Day weekend. It will almost be lime the A-team (Jeff's team before we got married) since a lot of the guys will have kids playing in the tourney!
